#48 shown below on this page, would be used if you were to build the
front section in 2 pieces rather than 1 piece.
I built my unit
this way in 1996. But I would not recommend this, as it is more work to
set up.
However, the one
advantage to this configuration, is that you can make the "stop blocks"
longer if necessary. This would be useful if you were running double or
triple engine units.
